Welcome to Where We Run, a journalism project exploring the relationship between runners and the paths they return to.

Each story begins with a shared run along a route chosen by the participant. As we move, conversations unfold about why they run where they do and how certain places become woven into memory, identity, and routine.

The stories are intended to feel like you’re joining someone mid-run: intimate, observant, and occasionally breathless.

But the focus is as much on the route as the runner.

Participants are referred to by first name only, while photography focuses on the surrounding landscape, allowing the environment itself to take prominence.

New pieces will be published periodically as the series continues.

Thanks for stopping by.
